Resumption of Blogging
It's been a very long time between blog posts for me, but the last several months have been full of change and busy for us. Bounced paychecks (employer's company went out of business abruptly), unemployment (for both of us), moving, employment (praise God!), and getting used to new jobs and new routines. That's the very short version! During all of this, blogging simply wasn't high on my list of priorities.
I'm currently working as a front desk agent at a local hotel (which is part of an international chain of hotels). I'm also teaching Bible to the Junior High and Senior High students of a local Christian school three days a week. I absolutely love it! My passion for adult Christian education has also grown during this time, too. My wife is currently a long-term substitute teacher in a local school district. We continue to be amazed at God's provision and goodness.
We're involved in our home church - the one we were members of before moving to Odessa. We team-teach a 2nd and 3rd grade Sunday School class. We're in the process of being reinstated as members. I even got to preach about a month ago (that was a tremendous honor and felt fantastic to do it again).
We've been learning the lesson of dependence during the last several months. We were brought to a place where we had to trust God for nearly everything and depend upon Him for guidance and wisdom. We know that God's course on trusting Him will last the rest of our lives, but that's not a bad thing!
A little update for anyone who's wondering.
Soli Deo Gloria!
