The Prayer of St. Augustine
"Thou who art the light of the minds that know Thee; the life of the souls that love Thee; and the strength of the wills that serve Thee; help us so to know Thee that we may truly love Thee; so to love Thee that we may fully serve Thee, whom to serve is perfect freedom. Amen."
Currently, I'm a pastor looking for a congregation. I teach Bible to Junior High and High Schoolers at a local Christian school (and love it!). I'm happily married to a wonderful woman named Karen (since 1986). We have no children, but we're in the process of adopting. I earned a Bachelor's Degree in History from Western Washington University and a Master of Divinity degree from Western Conservative Baptist Seminary. I pastored Heritage Church in Odessa, Washington from October of 1999 through January of 2007. Theologically, I'm an evangelical - well within the boundaries of historic, orthodox Christianity - and have some Reformed leanings (but I'm not angry about it!). God saved me by grace alone through faith alone because of Christ alone in November of 1980. Based on my gratitude to the Lord for who He is and what He's done, it's been my desire to follow, love, obey, serve, praise, and glorify Him all the days of my life (I haven't always succeeded - my best efforts are always tainted with sin - and He has been abundantly gracious and merciful with me). My purpose is to glorify God by helping Christians to think and act biblically.
